In what may have been a terrible misunderstanding, cops arrested a television reporter for shoplifting at a Sears in Milford, Connecticut.
Desiree A. Fontaine advised the police she was just doing investigative research on assignment for a piece on shoplifting.
Not a bad story. Except… Fontaine is a traffic reporter.

She was charged with misdemeanor larceny.
