It’s no secret that Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin was a KGB spy – well, not now, but in 1988 it was.
A twenty-year old photograph of Ronald Reagan with Mikhail Gorbachev (behind Reagan) in Moscow has surfaced. In it, a young Putin poses undercover as a camera-wearing tourist. The tourist’s assignment at Red Square that day was to ask public questions to embarrass Reagan on America’s human rights policy.
The photo was taken by Pete Souza, now President Obama’s official White House photographer. He says it’s real. Russia dismisses it as “nonsense.”
